I'm in the process of building a new PC specifically to play GTA 6 when it comes out. I've got an R9 5900x processor and 32GB of RAM. My plan is to use a quad HD monitor and stream gameplay on Linux for optimal performance. I'm considering a few AMD GPUs and want to know which one would be best for my needs:
- RX 9060XT 16GB Sapphire Nitro+ for $3200 (sealed)
- RX 6800XT 16GB Asrock Gaming for $2500 (used, like new)
- RX 6900XT 16GB Asrock Gaming for $3300 (used, like new)
- RX 7700XT 16GB ROG Strix for $2800
I want to run the game on high or ultra settings at quad HD resolution. Any recommendations?

Those prices don’t look like USD, right? Out of your list, the RX 9060XT 16GB definitely stands out as a solid option. It's a newer generation card, so hopefully, it'll handle 1440p games well. Performance-wise with GTA 6, we can only guess at this point—it might be super optimized or a complete mess!
Honestly, it's really tough to say which GPU to go for since GTA 6 isn’t even out yet. We still have a couple of years, and there’s no definitive spec list available. Plus, there are concerns about how well it might run on Linux. Just keep an eye on the developments!
At the end of the day, you really have to wait until closer to the release. Rockstar hasn't clarified specs or platforms yet, so it’s hard to make a choice. It might be a good idea to hold off until next-gen cards are out—it could save you from immediate regret!

Yeah, waiting makes sense! The future GPUs might offer better performance and compatibility for new titles.
