Which Azure Region Should I Choose in Europe for My Landing Zone?

I'm looking to set up a fresh Azure Landing Zone and I'm curious about the best datacenter options in Europe. While Microsoft mentions that it's advisable to pick the closest region that meets company regulations, I feel like there might be more to consider. I've heard that some regions, especially West Europe and North Europe, are quite congested, while others like the new Sweden region are ahead in terms of certain services like AI. I'm located in France—does anyone have insights on the capabilities of Azure's datacenters in Europe? Is the region selection the most crucial factor in this decision? Thanks!

Germany West Central has been a go-to recommendation for folks in the West Europe region. Your best bet is definitely to check out France Central since that's closest to you. Just remember to plan for future scalability, as you may need to shift regions later.

I'd steer clear of West and North Europe—they're pretty saturated and often lack capacity. Sweden Central is a solid alternative, and I've found that France Central works well too, typically without any capacity issues.

We've been using the Germany West Central region for a while now and haven't faced any shortages. It's been stable with no major outages recently.

Belgium Central is a newer option and might still have free capacity available. It could be worth considering if you're looking for alternatives.

You can check out this link to see the services available in each region: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/explore/global-infrastructure/products-by-region/table. Besides choosing a location, consider your business's specific needs as that often influences the deployment decision.
