Hey everyone! I'm in the market for a motherboard to pair with my Ryzen 9 9800X3D and RTX 5080. I've found a few options that I like: the GIGABYTE B850 AORUS Elite WIFI7, ASRock Phantom Gaming B850 Riptide WIFI, and ASUS ROX Strix B850-F Gaming WIFI. I plan to add 32GB of 6000MHz RAM to the build. I'm leaning towards a B850 motherboard since I don't see the benefit of getting an X870 and I'd prefer not to go older with a B650. If you have any thoughts on these boards or recommendations for others, I'd love to hear them!

I like Gigabyte boards! I've used the AORUS Elite a few times, and it's been reliable for me. The software is a bit buggy for some, but it seems nicer compared to others like ASUS and MSI. Your mileage may vary, though!
Definitely avoid ASRock if you're concerned about the safety of your CPU, as they seem to be causing problems with the X3D chips. Between the ASUS and Gigabyte, I'd say go for Gigabyte if you want a solid set of features without spending too much. Their boards are well-regarded for stability!
Honestly, Gigabyte or MSI are pretty solid choices. Stay away from Asus or ASRock; I've seen too many users having their 9800X3D fry!
I'm currently using the Gigabyte B850 AORUS, and I'm happy with it, even though I'm rocking a different CPU. I think it’ll pair nicely with the 9800X3D. Good call passing on the X870; that's really only for hardcore overclockers or content creators. Any good B850 is worth it!
I've heard a lot of issues with ASRock boards lately, especially with the 9800X3D. The ASUS boards are also facing some similar problems. If I had to choose one from your list, I’d go with the GIGABYTE B850 AORUS Elite, but honestly, I’d recommend checking out the MSI B850 Tomahawk Wifi instead; it's been getting great feedback lately.

Thanks for the heads up! What makes the MSI board stand out for you? I've usually avoided MSI due to some mixed reviews on their UEFI.
