Which Budget AM4 CPU is Best for 2025 Builds?

I'm planning to build my PC in early 2026, but recent RAM price increases have put a strain on my budget. Unfortunately, AM5 is out of my price range, so I'm looking for a solid mid-range CPU that can last a few years. I'm considering either the Ryzen 5600X or the 5700X. Would the 5700X be worth the extra 20-30€ where I live, or is the 5600X sufficient? I'm also not interested in any x3d models since spending over 300€ on a used 5700X3D doesn't seem justifiable.

Both the 5600X and the 5700X are great choices. The 5700X runs cooler and offers slightly better performance, plus it’s great for overclocking. If the price gap where you are is only 20-30€, I’d say the 5700X is worth getting unless you’re really strapped for cash.

With just a 30€ difference, does the 5700X outpace the 5600X enough to justify it?

If you're looking to save some cash, I'd go for the 5600X. It allows you to spend more on a GPU, which can give you better performance overall. The 5700X is good too, but if the budget is tight, stick with the 5600X. It’s excellent for what you get!

Yeah, I'm thinking the same. Keeping the CPU affordable lets me invest in a better GPU. Do you think the 5600X is definitely better for this plan?

I’d suggest checking prices in PCPartPicker for your country. What's your budget? What do you intend to use it for? Knowing your specific goals helps a lot in making the best choice for components!

I’m from Greece, and sadly, PCPartPicker doesn’t cover it. My budget is around 200€, mostly for casual gaming, and I have no other specs in mind yet.

The 5600X is a fantastic deal for its price point. I’ve had great experiences with it! Honestly, unless you're planning to upgrade your CPU in the future, the 5700X could offer some better longevity. Plus, you don’t really need a super expensive GPU for casual gaming; a solid mid-range option will do! Good luck with your build!

You could also consider going for an Intel setup with the latest LGA 1700 socket. They can support both DDR4 and DDR5 RAM, which might offer some flexibility down the line.
