Hey everyone! I'm trying to figure out the best options for a budget gaming setup. I'm torn between the Ryzen 7 2700X and the Intel i5 11400F for the CPU. Which one do you think is better for budget gaming right now? Also, I'm looking at two motherboards: the Gigabyte B450M-K and the GIGABYTE H510M H V2. Which one would be more upgradable in the future?

Honestly, upgrading with these platforms is a bit tricky right now. Sure, you might find options like the 5700X3D for AM4, but it's expensive enough that you might as well go for a whole new platform. Really depends on how much you're willing to spend in the long run!
You might still want to consider the AM4 socket. Getting a 5500X3D or a 5600 now could be a decent investment if you plan to upgrade later. Also, I recommend getting 32/64GB of RAM now because prices are set to increase. If you go Intel, definitely aim for the 12th gen like the 12400 or even the 12100F with DDR5 support.
So, the AM4 definitely pairs with the Ryzen 7 2700X and the B450M-K, right? That motherboard seems to support a lot of AMD CPUs, giving you more upgrade options compared to the Intel one, which only supports a couple of generations. I’m leaning towards that mobo and CPU combo now, planning to grab an RTX 3000 series down the line!
So the CPU and motherboard are really the sticking points, huh? My PSU and cooler seem decent, and 750W is good for even RTX 3000 series. GPUs are killer prices at the moment though. I’m considering a prebuilt for around 700-750 euros, but with my PS5 already, dropping that much on a PC feels silly unless I sell it.
