Which Component Should I Upgrade for Better Gaming Performance?

Hey everyone! I need some advice on upgrading my PC. I bought it a few years back and now I'm looking to boost its performance, especially for gaming. Here are my specs:

- CPU: Intel Core i7 13700KF
- RAM: 32GB
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 with 12GB VRAM
- Motherboard: MSI MAG Z790 TOMAHAWK

I also have two MSI G27C4 E2 monitors (Full HD 1920x1080p at 170Hz). I'm wondering if it's worth upgrading one of the monitors or if higher resolution isn't really supported by most games.

My main goals are to play heavily modded Skyrim smoothly (my FPS drops below 40 in dense areas), enjoy most games at max settings, and run VR games like Blade & Sorcery at at least 60 FPS on max settings using my Quest 2 with Oculus Link.

I'm not sure which part of my setup is limiting my performance the most, so I'd appreciate any insights. Thanks in advance!

Your setup is solid for 1080p gaming. It sounds like your performance issues might stem from specific situations within Skyrim, especially since it's heavily modded. What exact scenarios are giving you trouble?

As for your question about monitor upgrades, games typically support any resolution you throw at them, but how much better they look in higher resolution really depends on the title.

So do most games actually look better in higher resolution? I know it's subjective, but I'd love to get some opinions, especially for older titles like GTA or Dishonored. Only in my modded Skyrim and a few new games do I drop FPS.
