I'm building my son his first gaming computer and need to ensure that it works with my current setup, which requires an AM5 motherboard. I'm considering two bundles: one with a 9600x CPU and 16GB of RAM priced at $270, and another with a 7700x CPU and 32GB of RAM for $350. I'm leaning towards the 7700x since the additional RAM would save me money in the long run. What do you all think?

The gaming performance between the two CPUs is pretty similar, but the 7700X actually offers a slight edge in productivity tasks. Plus, having that extra RAM is always a good idea! I'd go for the 7700x bundle if I were you.
Keep in mind that the 9600x bundle might require you to buy additional RAM later on, which makes the 7700x a more sensible pick. Plus, that bundle comes with a full-sized ATX board.
While 32GB of RAM gives you a nice performance boost, I suggest also considering the 7800x3d bundle, even if it's pricier. After reselling the motherboard, you could still end up with a killer setup. But if you're sticking to this build for your son, the 7700x works great for what he’ll be doing.
If you can get both more RAM and a better CPU, why not just snag the 7700x? It seems like the clear choice for future-proofing your son’s PC.
I got the 7700x bundle last year and honestly, it was the best decision I made. Totally happy with it!
