I'm building a new PC and I'm trying to decide between two CPUs at my price range. I've found a 13600K for $150 and a 7700X for $180. I'll be using either with a non-XT version of the 9070 graphics card. Given these options, which CPU would be the better choice for my setup?

True, while the 13600K is faster overall, remember that it's at the end of its socket life. You might end up stuck without upgrade options later on.
Looking purely at speed, the 13600K can be 10%-15% faster for tasks and gaming. But the heat and upgrade limitations are a big concern with Intel.
I'd go with the 7700X. Intel's recent generations have a lot of issues, and AMD tends to be more reliable overall.
Exactly! Plus, if you're mainly gaming, the 7700X should deliver great performance.
If you care mostly about gaming, the 7700X is definitely the way to go unless you're using multithreaded applications. The 13600K might have a slight edge in raw performance, but it runs hot and lacks upgrade potential.

Yeah, and the 7700X gives you the option to upgrade in the future without having to swap the whole motherboard.
