I'm planning to build a new PC soon and I'm considering purchasing a 5070 Ti for 1440p gaming. Currently, the 7800X3D is priced at $539 CAD, while the 9800X3D is available for $639 CAD—only $100 more. Is it worth spending the extra money on the 9800X3D? Also, I've noticed that these two processors have only a $30 price difference when not on sale. Why is that? Thanks for any insights!

If you're after the best performance, definitely go for the 9800X3D. However, if you're trying to save some cash, the 7800X3D should perform just fine for gaming. You'll likely only notice a real difference if you're multitasking heavily.
Before you decide, make sure you check compatibility with your motherboard! Some like mine (the Asrock Nova) don’t play well with the 9800X3D. Honestly, for 1440p, I'd lean towards the 7800X3D and maybe wait for the Zen 6 processors.
If you get a fantastic deal on the 7800X3D, it's a good pick. But if you're buying new and can swing it, just grab the 9800X3D—it’s worth it for future-proofing your build!
I'm using a B650 Eagle, so it should be compatible.
