I'm currently using a Ryzen 5 5600X with an RX 6950XT, and I'm looking to maximize my GPU's performance. The 5600X is starting to show its limitations for my gaming needs. I've heard that the X3D CPUs might improve my gaming experience, but I'm weighing my options. I found a used Ryzen 9 5900X for about $200, while the Ryzen 5 5500X3D is around $270 on AliExpress. I know the 5900X is a stronger CPU overall, but is the 5500X3D sufficient for gaming given I'm not doing much else with my setup? I'd love to hear any insights on their gaming performance, especially direct comparisons if available!

The 5600X is actually pretty solid for your RX 6950XT. While the X3D cache does provide some advantages in certain games, it may not be worth switching from a 5600X unless you really need that extra performance for gaming at higher resolutions. The 5900X could be more beneficial if you’re doing tasks that take advantage of its additional cores, like video rendering or streaming.
