I'm trying to decide between two CPUs for my new build. I can get the 7700x for $215, or the 14600k for $179, and the latter comes with a free 1TB SSD. I plan to game at 1440p, do some streaming, and multitask a lot. My goal is to find a CPU that runs cool and is as efficient as possible. Any recommendations or thoughts on which one might be better for my needs?

I'd go with the 7700x if it's close to $200. AMD CPUs generally provide better watt-to-performance ratios, so they excel in gaming and multitasking. Just keep in mind the potential motherboard costs and upgrade paths as you plan your build.
The 7700x is more efficient, but the performance difference between the two won't be noticeable for everyday use. If you're budget-conscious, consider the 7700 as an alternative; it's similar to the 7700x but usually cheaper.
Look into how future-proof each option is. With the 7700x, if you get a decent B650 board now, you could upgrade your CPU down the line. Intel lacks the same flexibility for upgrades.
If you're gaming primarily, the 14600k could be a good buy, especially if you can grab a compatible motherboard for a reasonable price. Plus, getting the SSD for free adds extra value if you need it.
