I'm building my first PC and trying to decide between the Ryzen 5 3600X, which costs around $105 ($75 USD), and the Ryzen 5 5600 for about $160 ($114 USD). I'm planning to pair it with an RX 6600 XT Eagle 8GB and mainly use it for 1080p gaming unless I find a good deal on a 1440p monitor. Which CPU would be the better choice for my setup?

I agree with getting the 5600. It's much better for gaming, especially when you're pairing it with the RX 6600 XT. That combination will take your gaming to the next level at 1080p!
I definitely recommend going for the 5600. It's worth the extra price because it delivers about a 20% performance boost over the 3600X. This means you'll have a better overall gaming experience!
If you think you might upgrade your GPU in the future, the 5600 would be the way to go. While the 3600 is enough for now, the 5600 will provide a better experience down the road, especially if you transition to a higher-end GPU later on.
Yup, I was already leaning towards a 144hz 1080p monitor, so I think I'll go with the 5600.

That's good to know! Are there any specific games you think it excels at?
