Which CPU Should I Choose: Ryzen 5 7600X or Ryzen 7 7700 for My 9060 XT?

I'm trying to decide between buying the Ryzen 5 7600X or the Ryzen 7 7700 to pair with a RX 9060 XT 16GB graphics card. I've read some discussions suggesting that the 7600X is sufficient for this setup, and the price difference is around $40. However, I'm also considering the future if I want to upgrade my graphics card later on. Also, I'm curious if either option would handle gaming at 1440p with a 240Hz monitor.

I've got the Ryzen 7 7700X in my rig, and I recommend it fully! Great performance for today's games, just a solid choice if available.

Unfortunately, the prebuilt I’m looking into doesn’t allow for the 7700X; I’m a bit stuck with the options.

I’d say go with the 7700X if possible! It’s worth the upgrade in most scenarios.

Why not look into the Ryzen 7 7700X or the 9 series? Just curious why those weren't options for you.

I'm going for a prebuilt system since the options are really limited, and I can't pick the 7700X or 9 series.

What do you plan to use your computer for? If it’s mainly for gaming, the two extra cores might not make a huge difference for most games right now.

I'm mainly focusing on schoolwork for now, but after that, it'll be all about gaming!

I believe the Ryzen 7 7700 is definitely worth the extra $40 for the additional two cores. It can provide better multitasking and performance in the long run, especially if you might upgrade your GPU in the future.

Absolutely! I own a Ryzen 5 7600 paired with a RX 9060 XT, and while it performs well, I do feel limited at times, especially with future upgrades in mind.
