Which CPU should I upgrade to for my RX 7800 XT at 1440p?

Hey everyone! I'm considering upgrading my CPU because I'm experiencing some performance issues with my current setup. Here's what I have right now:

- Monitor: 1440p 180Hz LED IPS
- Motherboard: Gigabyte B550M DS3H
- GPU: RX 7800 XT
- Current CPU: Ryzen 5 5500 (with a stock cooler)
- RAM: 32GB 3600MHz DDR4
- Storage: 2TB

I initially thought about switching to a Ryzen 7 5700X3D since the Ryzen 7 5800X3D is quite pricey and may not offer a significant performance upgrade. However, I'm struggling to find the 5700X3D in stock. As an alternative, I'm considering the Ryzen 7 5800XT, 5800X, or 5700X.

Would the performance boost be noticeable with these options, or is it not worth it? The Ryzen 5 5500 isn't terrible, but I've noticed stuttering in games that aren't heavily reliant on the GPU, which can be frustrating.

Yeah, the AM4 X3D CPUs are pretty much gone, and it seems like everyone is holding onto theirs. I'd suggest checking for new or used 5800X or 5800XT if you're okay with the seller's credibility.

Got it! I guess the 5800XT is my best bet. Appreciate your input!

If you're on a budget, the 5600(X), 5700X, and 5800X will give you similar performance. It's best to go for whichever is the cheapest option available!

I recently picked up a 5800X, and honestly, I'd recommend going for either the 5700X, 5800X, or 5800XT based on the best price you can find. I got mine used off eBay for around $140, which was a steal! With your RX 7800 XT, I think you'll end up with a solid build.

Thanks for the advice! I'm leaning towards the 5800XT now.
