Which CPU upgrade should I consider for my setup?

I'm looking to upgrade my CPU because I feel like it's currently bottlenecking my performance. My budget is $800, and I'm hoping to find a CPU that can still work with my existing DDR4 RAM to avoid the high prices of newer RAM right now. I'm currently using an i5-9600K along with an RTX 2070, and I play at 1080p only due to my monitor. Any suggestions would be really appreciated!

If you're open to AMD, consider getting an AM4 motherboard along with a Ryzen 7 5700X CPU. It'll give your system a significant performance boost without breaking the bank.

You might want to check out this combo: a 12600KF CPU along with a B760 DDR4 board for around $300. Then, you can spend the rest of your budget on a new GPU, like the RX 9060 XT 16GB, which should easily handle 1080p gaming at high settings.

Sticking with AMD could be smart too. A Ryzen 5 5600 with a B550 motherboard will allow you to keep most of your existing setup and won't bottleneck your RTX 2070 at 1080p.
