Choosing Between a 5070 Ti and a 9070 XT for Gaming and Creative Work

I'm building my first PC soon, and I'm stuck deciding between the 5070 Ti and the 9070 XT graphics cards. My budget is around $2000, and I'll start building in about six months. I'm not just gaming; I want to do some video editing, music production, and maybe game development. The 5070 Ti is recommended for productivity tasks, but in Poland, the 9070 XT is about $300 cheaper. Is spending the extra money on the 5070 Ti worth it for my intended use, or will the 9070 XT suffice as an amateur? Should I consider getting a second-hand 5070 Ti instead?

Prices can vary a lot in Poland for PCs. Check out sites like Hagglezon for better deals! As for your CPU and RAM, you seem set up well, but consider if you really need to spend so much on the 5070 Ti or if the 9070 XT covers your bases for now.

Thanks for the tip! I'm hoping to save as much as I can while still getting a solid setup.

If you're focused on productivity and video editing, I'd go with the 5070 Ti. The software you mentioned tends to work better with Nvidia cards, thanks to features like NVENC for rendering. Sure, the 9070 XT is cheaper, but for creative tasks, that extra $300 can make a difference in your workflow.

That's the consensus I've seen too! The 5070 Ti seems worth it if you'll really dive into editing, especially since it's more widely supported in creative applications.

Given the price difference, I'd say look at the second-hand market for a 5070 Ti. Even if it's a bit older, you'll get the benefits for your editing tasks without the high costs of a new one. Just check the seller's ratings and be careful about how it was used.

That sounds like a good plan! If you can find a reliable second-hand GPU, that might be the best of both worlds.

I'd recommend sticking with the 5070 Ti if you care about things like ray tracing and DLSS in the long run. Even if you're just getting into video editing now, those features might be useful as you get more into it. Plus, Nvidia tends to have better driver support for creative applications.

Yeah, I've read that too. But with the price being so high for the 5070 Ti in Poland, it's tough to justify it right now.

Honestly, if your main goal isn't heavy gaming, the 9070 XT is probably fine for learning. You're just starting out, and you mentioned you're not doing this professionally yet. The performance difference might not be worth the price gap for you.

That’s a fair point! Especially if you're doing basic tasks for self-learning, the 9070 XT can handle it without breaking the bank.
