I'm currently using a Threadripper 1950x on an X399 Aorus Gaming 7 motherboard, paired with an RTX 3070 and 64GB of 3200MHz RAM. I'm looking to upgrade to a more gaming-oriented processor, but I know I'll need a new motherboard and possibly DDR5 RAM as well. Can anyone guide me on what I should be considering? Should I stick with AMD or go Intel? Should I look at Ryzen 7, Ryzen 9, i7, or i9? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

First off, what’s your budget? That’ll really help narrow down your options! But if we're talking about gaming-focused CPUs, the AMD 7800X3D and 9800X3D are top-tier picks. Even the 7600X would be a huge upgrade from your old Threadripper for gaming!
If you're doing mostly gaming, I'd lean towards AMD. But if you're at all into work-related tasks or anything that requires heavy lifting, Intel might be the way to go, especially if you have a larger budget for an AM5 setup. Just keep in mind the X3D chips are pricier for that extra performance!
If you want the best gaming experience, the 9800X3D is king. The 7800X3D is also excellent and might save you some cash depending on pricing. If you play games like Tarkov or Rust, the 9800X3D would be worth it for the performance boost!
I’m in the UK, and I'd like to keep the CPU under £300, the mobo around £150, and if I need new RAM, about £150 too!
