Which Gaming Build Should I Choose for Streaming and AI?

I'm trying to decide between two gaming PC builds for 1440p at 144hz, that can also handle some streaming and possibly local AI projects. The options are: one with an AMD 5080 and an i7-14700F paired with a B760 motherboard, or the other with a 5070 Ti and a 9800X3D along with a B650 motherboard, all for the same price. I'm also considering whether the Intel CPU will be a good long-term investment for gaming or if it'll be outdated in five years. I mostly play mid-grade 5070 games but want the flexibility to explore more complex titles, which is why I'm considering these GPUs. Alternatively, there's a 9070XT available for about $160 less than the other builds. What would you recommend?

If you're leaning towards your options, definitely aim for the 9800X3D with the 5070 Ti or a 9070XT. They're solid picks!

Honestly, the 5080 doesn't offer great price-to-performance—it’s not worth it. The 5070 Ti is really the GPU to go for. On the CPU side, consider the Ryzen 7700 if you can find it around $195; while it's not as powerful, you'll save a lot now and can upgrade later when prices drop again. Overall, it seems worth saving that $285 for future upgrades!

It’s weird to even consider Intel these days with their current lineup. For gaming, AMD is clearly the way to go. Plus, your AMD motherboard will likely support future upgrades better than Intel's frequent socket changes.

I'd steer clear of the Intel CPUs like the 13th and 14th Gen since they've been reported to have some factory issues. Personally, I'd go for the 9800X3D; it’s fantastic for gaming and handles work tasks pretty well too!

What do you think about the new Core Ultra 7/9 chips?

Totally agree, definitely avoid Intel in this case.
