Hey everyone! I'm trying to decide between the 5060 and the 9060 XT (both with 8 GB) for my portable PC, which will be up to 206 mm long. I'm planning to pair it with either a Ryzen 7600 or an Intel 12400 processor, and I'll be gaming on a 1080p monitor. My main focus is playing Minecraft with all the latest graphical enhancements like ray tracing. Currently, I'm using a GTX 650m and getting around 30 fps, which I'm okay with, but I'd like to improve the visuals. Would you recommend going for one of these GPUs, or do you have other suggestions? Also, I'm curious if it's worth the extra cost to upgrade to the 5060 Ti with 8 GB or the 9060 XT with 16 GB, as that would increase my budget by about 30%.

Just a note, you might hit some limitations with the 7600 since it only supports PCIe 3.0, and it's not the latest tech anymore, being EOL since March 2024. Consider that when making your choice, as it might affect future upgrades.

Actually, the 7600 supports PCIe 5.0, so that shouldn’t be a concern! Check out AMD's site for the specs.

It looks like the 9060 XT is a better choice compared to the 5060 Ti since they’re direct competitors. In general, the 9060 XT performs better overall. Just a heads up, with the 7600 processor, you're likely to get the most out of the 9060 due to its full x16 slot, which offers better long-term performance and bandwidth.

That’s true! But keep in mind that for games like Minecraft, which can favor Nvidia, the 5060 might actually perform better, especially with shaders and ray tracing. So if those features are what you’re after, it could be worth considering.
