I just grabbed a 7800x3d and I'm trying to figure out the best GPU to pair it with. I've noticed used 3080 Ti cards going for around $400-500, while the 4070 Supers are around $500-600. I also have a Micro Center nearby that sells the 5070 for about $650 after tax. I'm currently leaning toward a used 3080 Ti for $430 or a used 4070 Super for $525. Since I have an R5 5600X and a 3060 Ti rig, I've heard that the 3080 Ti's power consumption is pretty high, but is that really going to make a huge difference in my wallet? Thanks for your help!

If you upgrade your GPU occasionally, consider going for the latest one. The 5070 has some new tech that could help it stay relevant longer. In the long run, it might be worth the extra money.
I'd go with the 3080 Ti. The 4070 Super is only about 1% better in performance, but it comes at a significantly higher price. The 5070 does offer a performance boost along with better efficiency, but it might not be worth it unless you're really into the latest tech.
Honestly, all three options are quite comparable. If you're looking for future-proofing, I would lean towards the 5070 because of its latest technologies like DLSS and multi-frame generation. The 4070 Super is solid too, but if it costs less than the 5070, it might be a good backup plan if you're on a tight budget.
