I'm trying to decide between three graphics cards: a Founders Edition 5070 for $700, a 7900XT for $760, and a 9070XT for $900. Is the extra $200 for the 9070XT worth it? Here are the prices I'm looking at:
- 5070FE: $700
- 7900XT: $760
- 9070XT: $900

Honestly, I'd skip the 5070. I don't think it's worth $700, especially with only 12 GB of VRAM. I have a 7900XT, which has been great for me—I got mine for $620. I’ve had zero issues with it. I passed on the 9070XT mainly because of the price and availability, but if you're into frame generation, it might be the better choice for you. It's all about what features are most important to you!
If you're okay with normal pricing in your area, either the 5070 or the 9070XT seems like a good pick for me. I wouldn’t suggest the 7900XT though; just my two cents!
I’ve got a 5070 and it performs really well! In fact, it usually runs within 5-10% of the 9070XT before considering DLSS and all that. I’m playing some demanding games at 1440P with all settings maxed and hitting around 240 FPS. Is an extra 10% performance worth paying an extra 20% for the 9070XT? That's really up to you!
I just got a 5070 recently—and wow, it handles everything like a champ!
If you're looking for the best value, consider the 5070 Ti. It's priced right and outperforms quite a few options, but if you’re set on the 9070XT, just wait for it to come down a bit closer to MSRP.
Just a heads up, the 5070Ti is way overpriced in Canada due to scarcity; it’s about $150-200 more than the 9070XT here.
For what it's worth, go with either the 7900XT or the 9070XT. The 9070XT is faster in both rasterization and ray tracing, but keep in mind it’s pricier and might be harder to find. That said, the 5070 really isn’t worth considering at $700.
Honestly, I think the 5070 has its own merits if you look at upscaling and ray tracing!
I’ve also got the 5070, and it does great on my settings too!
