I'm looking to upgrade my 3060 Ti and can't decide between the 5070 and the RX 9070 XT. They are priced the same at about $940 in my country, while the 5070 Ti is considerably more expensive at $1480. I've come across some fantastic reviews for the 9070 XT, but I'm worried since I've never used an AMD GPU before. I'm also contemplating whether to go for the Sapphire Nitro+ or the Pulse version of the 9070 XT, as I've seen mixed opinions about their power cables. Any advice would be really appreciated!

If you're gaming at 1440p, the 9070 XT will handle it better than the 5070. They both have driver issues now and then, but that's pretty common these days. Just make sure to use a native 12v2x6 cable for better stability—avoid adapters! Overall, I think it's the better choice for gaming.
Sure, going with Nvidia has its perks, but the raw performance of the 9070 XT is hard to beat. Given the same prices, I'd go for the 9070 XT and suggest the Pulse model—upgrading usually doesn't justify the higher cost for minimal performance gains.
If the prices are the same, I'd definitely recommend the RX 9070 XT. It outperforms the 5070 by a good margin and is closer in specs to the 5070 Ti. Plus, it has 16GB of VRAM, which is a nice bonus! As for the Nitro+ and Pulse models, there's typically a price difference—Nitro+ is more premium, while the Pulse is more budget-friendly. Also, AMD's drivers have been pretty stable lately. Don't worry too much about missing out on DLSS; FSR 4 is a solid alternative now.
The Pulse is actually $100 cheaper than the Nitro+, but I've heard concerns about some cable melting issues with the Nitro+. I primarily game, but the performance of the 9070 XT really impresses me!
The Sapphire Pure 9070 XT has been performing excellently for me. It actually runs pretty cool, staying around 57-60 degrees at full utilization. It uses 2x8 PCIe connectors, which is good to know when setting it up!

What kind of improvement would you estimate the 9070 XT offers over the 7800 XT?
