I'm trying to decide between the cheapest listings I found for two GPUs: the 9070 XT at $800 and the 5070 Ti at $840. Is the 5070 Ti worth the extra $40? I've heard it's only slightly faster than the 9070 XT, and I'm hesitant about getting an NVIDIA card due to issues like missing ROPs, burning power connectors, and driver problems.

Honestly, for just a $40 difference, the 5070 Ti is a no-brainer. The performance gain you get is worth it. Just make sure the price on the 9070 XT is really competitive, like around $700, if you want to consider it seriously.
If the price difference is under $50, I definitely recommend the 5070 Ti. You’ll find that $830 is basically the new standard price for entry-level models. If you're considering the 9070 XT, aim for a price under $700 to really get the best value out of it.
I'd go with the 5070 Ti. It's only slightly above the MSRP, while the 9070 XT is priced a lot higher over MSRP. Just make sure to check for the ROPs before keeping the 5070 Ti, as they had a production error with missing ones. As for burning connectors, unless you're getting the top-end models like the 4090, you shouldn't worry too much about that. Driver issues are tricky, but at the end of the day, just buy the GPU, enjoy gaming, and if the drivers are a problem, you can always return it for the 9070 XT.
It's pretty ironic, right? NVIDIA fans used to give AMD a hard time about driver issues, and now NVIDIA is facing the same thing!
Yeah, but to be fair, AMD has had their fare share of driver issues too.
Where did you even find a 5070 Ti for $840? That sounds like a steal!
I saw it on Newegg!
At that price difference, the 5070 Ti is the way to go. It's slightly faster in regular gaming, significantly better for ray tracing, and DLSS support is just better overall compared to AMD’s FSR. Plus, it'll probably have a better resale value later on.
ENTRY LEVEL??
