I'm building my first budget PC and I'm new to this whole process. I have $140 to spend on a GPU and I'm trying to figure out whether to go with the RTX 2060 or the 5600 XT. Which one would be a better choice for performance at this price?

For $140, there's not much else I'd recommend unless you’re looking on eBay. Just keep your options open!

While not necessarily about whether it's worth $140, if we're just comparing which GPU is better, I'd go for the RTX 2060. Just keep an eye out for better deals since those GPUs might stretch your budget.

The 5600 XT is slightly faster by a few percentage points, but I would personally choose the 2060 due to its access to DLSS. I recently picked up an RX 6600 for $150, and I think that's a better value if you can find one.

Both the RTX 2060 and 5600 XT have similar performance in most games. However, I'd recommend the 2060 for better driver support and fewer crashing issues. You might also want to shop around to see if you can find a 5700 – that would give you a noticeably better experience!

The 5000 series has improved a lot in terms of drivers, so that shouldn't really be a problem anymore. I still lean towards the 2060 because of DLSS, which can save you in newer games.

Consider getting a 5700 XT if you can find it for around $140 - it's a solid option in that price range.
