I'm in the process of building my first PC and I'm trying to decide between the 5070 or the 9070 XT as my GPU. My goal is to be able to play any game at 1440p for the next 4 to 5 years. I have a 650W Corsair RM650E power supply, but I know AMD recommends a 750W minimum for the 9070 XT. I'm concerned about whether the 9070 XT would be too demanding for my current setup or if it would be too loud. I'm likely going with a basic motherboard and an Intel i5-14400F processor. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

The 9070 XT definitely outperforms the 5070, but your 650W power supply might struggle with it. I've tried using a 9070 XT with a 650W PSU, and it got quite loud. I'd recommend aiming for an 850W PSU for either card to ensure good performance without noise issues.
Honestly, the 9070 XT won't be significantly louder than the 5070. I'd suggest going for an 800 or 850W power supply to be safe. The 9070 XT is a stronger card and is actually closer in performance to the 5070 Ti than the 5070 itself.

I just bought the power supply and can't return it. The 5070's minimum recommendation is 650W, so maybe it's still okay?
