I'm considering upgrading my GPU and I'm torn between the RTX 5070 12GB and the RX 9070 16GB. Currently, my setup includes a Ryzen 7 5700 CPU, an RTX 3070 GPU, 32 GB of RAM, and a 750W PSU. I primarily use my PC for gaming at 1440p, playing titles like BF6 and ARC Raiders, with a focus on multiplayer FPS games. I'm aiming for good performance at high or ultra settings without much concern for raytracing. My RTX 3070 is over four years old and I'm finding the 8GB of VRAM isn't cutting it anymore. I've noticed GPU prices are reasonable right now, but I hear they might start increasing soon due to supply issues, so I'm looking to make a decision soon. Any advice on which GPU would be a smarter choice given my situation would be greatly appreciated!

I'd definitely go for the RX 9070—16GB of VRAM is a big plus and will be more future-proof for your needs, especially since you’re not focusing on raytracing at all. Since it's only about $50 more than the 5070, it's a no-brainer for raw performance!
I switched from a 3070 Ti to the RX 9070 and honestly, I couldn’t be happier with the decision. It really boosted my gameplay.
For 1440p gaming, you'll likely not even max out either card's VRAM in a couple of years anyway. If you’re looking at Steam market trends, the RTX 5070 has about 2.2% market share and would be a solid option for most users right now! Just keep in mind both are mid-range cards, so achieving high/ultra settings with decent FPS might be tricky.
True, even with my 4070Ti, I was mostly at medium settings for good FPS. It’s smart to consider what FPS you actually want at 1440p!

Yeah, the RX 9070 seems like the way to go for performance purposes, especially for gaming! It's nice to see that it's not a huge price jump.
