Which GPU Should I Choose for Gaming and Blender?

I'm trying to pick the best GPU for my needs with the following options available to me in local stores (prices in USD):

- 2060 Super 8GB for $240
- 3050 8GB for $256
- 3060 8GB for $360
- 4060 8GB for $424

I play games like CS:GO and other FPS shooters, plus I dabble in some AAA single-player titles. I also use Blender for rendering, and since my projects aren't too heavy, 8GB VRAM should suffice. However, I'm not sure how fast each card is for rendering, especially with OptiX.

My budget is tight, so I'm looking for the best performance for my money. I want to avoid the latest AMD and older options due to stability and performance issues in Blender. Any solid recommendations?

I think you should reconsider going for the 20 or 30 series with the 50 series cards out now. If you can stretch your budget a bit more, aiming for at least a 5070 would give you more power and updated architecture. But I get that funds can be tight!

True, but not everyone can afford the latest series. Sometimes you have to make do with what's affordable!

For rendering in Blender, the 4060 will definitely outperform the others here, but if you're specifically using OptiX, it's worth checking out how the 3060 stacks up too. Make sure you keep your needs and budget in balance!

If you're leaning towards a solid choice, the RTX 4060 is likely your best bet for Blender performance, though the 3060 isn't far behind. In gaming, the 4060 has about a 15% advantage over the 3060 and supports features like frame generation which can really enhance your experience in AAA games. Honestly, if you're sticking to the options listed, I'd say go for the 4060!

That's a good point about the performance. The frame generation feature is a game-changer for newer titles!

You might also want to explore some alternatives like the Intel Arc B580 12GB or the 9060 XT 16GB if they're available. They can also offer competitive performance!

Based on the performance benchmarks, the 2060 Super gives you great value for the price, coming in at $240. If budget's the main concern, that might be the way to go instead of overextending for the newer models.
