Which GPU Should I Choose for Gaming and Language Models?

I'm trying to decide between getting the 5080 FE, RX 9070 XT, or the 5090 FE for my setup. I've watched several comparison videos, but I'm still unsure. I'm looking for a GPU that can run modern games at 60 fps and handle local language models like Llama 3.1. Here are my current specs: a 1000w power supply, an i9 9980XE CPU, and 128 gigabytes of memory.

Definitely go for the 5090 if you intend to run LLMs. I transitioned from the 9070 XT to the 5090 and it's night and day in terms of performance. Everyone who's downvoting doesn’t seem to understand the benefits for tasks like this. Just grab the 5090 and don’t look back!

Awesome! Should I get the FE version or is there a better option out there?

If you're considering the RX 9070 XT, just know that it's not really in the same league as the 5080 or 5090. It's more comparable to a 5070 Ti. So for modern gaming and especially for LLM tasks, I'd suggest going for the 5090 if your budget allows. It has the best performance for what you're looking to do. Just a heads up, the Founder's Edition can have some cooling issues compared to other brands, so pick the one that looks good to you and fits your budget.

Got it! My case is closed and not see-through, so looks aren't an issue for me. Plus, I'm fine price-wise with the 5090.

I’m looking for something in the 2.5 to 3k range and no more than 40cm long. Any thoughts?
