Hey everyone! I'm looking to give my gaming rig a facelift because I'm running into some performance issues while playing games on higher graphics settings. My current setup includes an i5-13600KF processor, an RTX 3070 GPU, 32GB of DDR4 3600MHz RAM, a 750W PSU, and I'm using Windows 11 on an NVMe SSD. I usually game at 1080p on a 240Hz monitor, mainly playing titles like CS2, Tarkov, BF6, and Squad. I'm considering either the RTX 5070 or the RX 9070 and want to know which graphics card would pair better with what I have. Also, is it worth it to upgrade to DDR5 RAM? I have a 16x2 kit but I wasn't aware that DDR5 uses a different slot than DDR4.

To use DDR5 RAM, you'd indeed need a new motherboard, which might not be the best move right now. For your 1080p gaming, the RTX 5070 should keep you happy for quite a while. The 9070 is a bit quicker, but honestly, just pick the cheaper one.
Right now, the RX 9070 for around $540 or the 9070XT for $600 are solid choices. The RTX 5070 is similarly priced but has less VRAM, making it a bad value option. I think your current setup should suffice without any other upgrades.
Got it, thanks!
The RTX 5070 is on sale for $490 at Newegg right now!
If you're playing CS2, Nvidia GPUs tend to deliver better performance than AMD ones. Just keep in mind that upgrading to DDR5 RAM would also mean getting a new motherboard, so that's something to consider carefully. Unless you're planning a CPU upgrade too, it might not be worth it to switch.
Gotcha, thanks!
If you value Nvidia features like DLSS, go for the 5070. It's pretty great. The 9070 is slightly more powerful in general, but at 1080p, either choice should work just fine. Pricing will definitely influence your decision as well.
I like Nvidia’s control panel, but I'm not tied to it. My last AMD card experience wasn't great, but that was years ago, so they might have improved since then.

Ok cool thanks!
