I'm trying to decide between a 5070 for $500 or a 5070 Ti for around $800. My main use will be playing hypermodded Skyrim (with around 4,600 mods), as my current 2070 Super is struggling. Both options would significantly upgrade my performance, but is the 5070 Ti worth the extra $300? The only other games I play are Total War 3 and Warframe, plus Cyberpunk which I'll also mod heavily. What do you think?

The 5070 is definitely the better choice for price-to-performance. The difference in performance is only about 20%, but the 5070 Ti costs 60% more! I have a 5700X3D with a 5070, and it handles 1440p gaming like a champ - I highly recommend it.
For the price, I’d actually recommend considering the 9070 XT instead. It performs similarly to the 5070 Ti but typically costs less, which means better value for your money!
Just a heads up, the 5070 Ti has been officially discontinued, which might indicate it’s not the best long-term investment. You might want to act fast if you really want one!
Either card will be enough for what you want to play, especially with the 12GB of VRAM. It should hold up well over the next few years no problem!
What resolution are you playing at? At 1080p, I think you’d be fine with the 5070 since that price is below MSRP. However, if you're going above 1440p, maybe the 5070 Ti is worth considering.
I'm currently playing at 1080p but will upscale textures for Skyrim. I'll likely only reach 1440 in Cyberpunk or Warframe.

Totally agree with you! There's barely any performance gap, and you'd save around $200 compared to the 5070 Ti.
