Which GPU Should I Choose for Long-Term Gaming? RX 9060 XT, RTX 5060 Ti, or RTX 5070?

I'm stuck trying to decide between the RX 9060 XT with 16GB, the RTX 5060 Ti with 16GB, and the RTX 5070 with 12GB for my gaming setup. Currently, I have a Ryzen 7 5700X CPU and 32GB of RAM. I'm looking for a GPU that will serve me well for at least the next 4 to 5 years. My main focus is playing games at 1440p, but I'm okay with dropping to 1080p if needed. Which GPU do you think will last the longest and provide the best performance?

For 1440p gaming, I'd put my money on the RTX 5070 - it's got raw power that will age better than the RX 9060 XT, which, while tempting for its 16GB, might struggle more in newer games. The 5060 Ti just doesn't have the same performance, so I'd skip it unless you're on a tighter budget.

I went with the RX 9070 non-XT paired with my Ryzen 5700X and it's been smooth sailing. If you can stretch your budget a bit toward the 9070, I suggest it for optimal performance at 1440p.

Just be careful about dropping resolution too much. DLSS is handy, but you want your experience to be as smooth as possible without compromising too much.

For longevity, I'd definitely recommend the RTX 5070 as it's the powerhouse among those options. You might want to also consider the RX 9070 non-XT, which can be a great alternative because it has more VRAM and slightly better performance than the 5070 while being comparable in price. It could give you that extra edge for modern titles.

I was just about to mention the 9070 too! It's cooler and uses less power compared to the 9070 XT, so it could have better long-term reliability.

Ultimately, just get what fits your budget and gaming needs right now. The hope for longevity is nice, but if the 5070's out of reach, grab the 5060 Ti and enjoy it for a couple of years before upgrading. If you see it starting to fail to meet your standards, you can always consider an upgrade later on.

Honestly, it really depends on what you prioritize. The 5070 is the fastest and likely to age the best. Sure, it has less VRAM, but if you can manage settings and use DLSS down the line, it should hold up fine. Don't get too hung up on the 16GB vs 12GB debate unless you're playing specific titles that need that much memory.

There are definitely some games that benefit from the 5060 Ti's 16GB, but those are rare cases. In general, the 5070 will give you better overall performance for most titles.
