Hey everyone! I'm about to build my first PC and I'm super excited but a bit confused about which GPU to choose. I'm aiming for a solid gaming experience, primarily at 1440p, especially for competitive shooters. Here's my current build plan:

1. Ryzen 7 9800X3D - $545
2. MSI B840 Gaming Plus - $220
3. G.Skill Ripjaws S5 16GB x2 - $110
4. Sapphire Nitro+ RX 9070 XT - $935 or RTX 5070 Ti - $1050 to $1299
5. An 850W PSU - $85 to $95
6. MSI MAG AIO 360mm cooler - $75

I'd love your thoughts on which GPU to go for or if you have any suggestions to improve my build. Thanks in advance!

I've been using the 9800X3D with the 9070 XT, and it's been a great setup for high frame rates and stability! I used to game on console, so this has been a fantastic upgrade for me.

That's awesome! I’m jumping from a laptop with a GTX 1650 Ti, so I can’t wait to experience a real upgrade.

Since your PC is purely for gaming and not for streaming or editing, you might want to just go with the cheaper option. The 5070 Ti is slightly better in raw gaming performance compared to the 9070 XT, so either would work well!

If you're aiming for a good CPU/GPU balance, consider switching the 9800X3D for the 9700X. It's performance-wise comparable to the 7800X3D but much cheaper. Definitely worth checking out!

Wow, that’s nearly a $200 difference! I’ll take a look at it, thanks for the tip!
