Hey everyone! I'm in the market for a new GPU to pair with my Ryzen 7 7700. Right now, I'm using a Full HD monitor, but I might upgrade to 1440p down the line (no interest in 4K). I mostly play online games like PUBG and CS2, and I'm planning to dive into Battlefield 6 and other upcoming AAA titles over the next five years. I'm not looking for ultra settings, just solid performance.
Here are the options I'm considering based on local prices in euros:
- RX 7800 XT 16GB – approx. 550€
- RTX 5060 Ti 16GB – approx. 450€
- RX 9700 XT – approx. 650€
- RTX 5070 (non-Ti) – approx. 650€
I've ruled out the RTX 5070 Ti and higher since they're out of my budget (850€+). Which GPU do you recommend for the best long-term performance and value?

Given those prices, the 9700 XT is definitely worth considering. Just look at the performance differences:
- 7800 XT gives you +12% performance for +22% cost, but its RT performance isn't impressive.
- The 5070 will give you +28% performance but at a 44% higher price with only 12GB of VRAM.
- The 9700 XT offers +57% performance at a similar price increase to the 5070.
By the way, I’m assuming you meant 9700 XT and not the 7900 XT, right?
I think the RX 9700 XT is a solid choice if your budget allows for it. If that stretches things a bit, the non-XT version is still good since it offers more VRAM than the 5070. Plus, it has FSR4 support which can be a plus!
Yeah, I agree! The 9700 XT is just a bit more than the 7800 XT and only about 150 more than the 5060 Ti, which makes it a pretty attractive option.

Haha, yeah, you got it! I messed up there. Thanks for breaking down the performance for me! I'm also curious though, what’s the deal with the rumored issues around Radeon drivers and FSR? Are those just fanboy banter or is there some truth to it?
