I'm deciding between the Zotac RTX 5070 Solid OC (priced at $905) and the XFX Radeon RX 9070 Swift Gaming OC non-XT (priced at $970). My main uses will be VR and multiplayer games. Currently, I have an i5-10400F, but I'm planning to upgrade later. I'm leaning towards the RX 9070, but I can't find much information on the non-XT model and I'm unsure if it's worth the extra $70. Which GPU would you recommend?

If you're into ray tracing, the RTX 5070's the way to go. However, for general gaming, especially VR and multiplayer, the RX 9070 is generally the better option. It outperforms the 5070 in most scenarios, especially if ray tracing isn't your primary focus.
Considering the closer pricing, I’d recommend the RX 9070 without hesitation. It outclasses the 5070 in just about every category. Plus, the extra VRAM will benefit your VR gaming at higher resolutions.
The RX 9070 is significant for VR—more VRAM means a smoother experience, especially in demanding titles. The RTX 5070 does have some nifty features like DLSS 4, but in the end, for VR, you want more horsepower and the RX 9070 delivers that.
Go for the RX 9070. You're looking at a small price bump for a lot more VRAM and overall performance. It’ll likely serve you better in VR and demanding games.
