I'm in the process of building my PC and have most of the components sorted out. However, I'm trying to decide between two GPUs: the Gigabyte RTX 3060 with 12 GB and the RTX 5070 with 12 GB. I'm not very experienced with GPUs, so I'm wondering if either of these is a good choice or if I should consider something else instead.

So you’re weighing a pretty old GPU, the 3060, which should cost around $150, against the newer 5070, which goes for about $550. That’s quite a price difference! You can check out more detailed GPU comparisons online to get a better sense of value.
The RTX 5070 is definitely a solid choice, especially for gaming at 1440p or even 4K if you're planning to go big. The 3060 might serve you well for 1080p at a budget, but it’s a bit outdated now. I’m using the 5070 myself for higher resolutions and it performs great!
Thanks for the input! I really appreciate it! ✌️
If your budget allows, I'd recommend going for the RTX 5070 Ti or the RX 9070 XT, especially if you want better performance. The RTX 5070 is a newer model and will give you a nice boost. Just make sure you know what the PC is mainly for—gaming, right?
Both options are decent, but the RTX 5070 is two generations ahead and a solid mid-tier GPU, which makes it a better pick overall.

Yeah, the RTX 4070 is unavailable where I am, and I've seen some negative reviews about the 5070 on YouTube, which makes me cautious.
