Which GPU should I choose: RTX 3060 with 12GB or RTX 4060 with 8GB?

I'm planning to upgrade my current graphics card, which only has 1GB of VRAM. I'm completely new to GPUs, so I'm a bit lost. I see that many people say that having more VRAM is better for future-proofing, yet the RTX 4060 seems to perform better overall according to the benchmarks and reviews I've found. Both cards are priced the same, making my decision even tougher. Any advice?

I'd also say go for the RTX 4060. More VRAM is typically a good thing, but the performance gains you'll get from the 4060 are hard to ignore. Also, consider if there are alternative cards within your price range that might offer better value, like the RX 6700 XT, if it's available to you.

That's a good point! Sometimes looking outside of the obvious choices can lead to a better bang for your buck.

What kind of games are you planning to play? If it’s mostly 1080p gaming, the performance difference will be noticeable with the 4060. But if you're concerned about the VRAM limit in the future, keep researching. There might be other cards worth considering, especially with new ones coming out soon.

If you can only choose between the RTX 3060 and 4060, I'd lean towards the 4060. Even though the 3060 has more VRAM, the 4060 generally offers better performance in most gaming scenarios. Make sure to check out some comparison videos on YouTube to see how they stack up with the games you play.

Yeah, definitely check those benchmarks! It really comes down to what you prioritize in gaming.
