I'm currently working with an Intel i5 12400F, GTX 1650, and 16GB of RAM, powered by a 600W PSU. I'm considering whether to upgrade to an RTX 3080 or a 4070. There's only a 100 euro price difference between the two when buying used, but if I go with the 3080, I'll need to also upgrade my power supply, costing about 50 euros. Which GPU would be the better choice for my setup?

I'd lean towards the 4070 if the price difference is close. The 4070 uses significantly less power and has some fantastic features like DLSS 3 and better ray tracing capabilities. Plus, if you have to upgrade your PSU for the 3080, that could change the math a bit regarding costs. Just make sure your current PSU is up to par before deciding!
Go with the 4070! Similar performance but it also has 50% more VRAM and better software support going forward. It's definitely the more future-proof option!
4070 offers enhanced features like better DLSS 4.5 support. If you're into newer games with DLSS, you'll see a nicer performance boost with this one compared to the 3080.
Check out some benchmarks to see the performance differences firsthand. The 3080 can sometimes outperform the 4070 in raw performance, but the 4070 brings newer tech like DLSS 3 and better efficiency to the table. It really depends on what matters more to you!

Totally agree! Keeping the power consumption in check is really important for stable performance.
