I'm looking at two graphics cards that are similar in price around $600 after taxes and fees. I'm primarily a gamer and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with the choices. Can anyone help me decide between the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB and the RX 7800 XT 16GB? Just to clarify, I know the prices are high right now—around $500 to $600 in the U.S. market in April 2025—so I'm not looking for deals below that range just yet. I've searched a lot but if you do know of better options, I'm all ears!

I’m leaning towards the 5060 Ti too. It’s just better for ray tracing and upscaling, which might be key for future games.
I’d go for the RX 7800 XT myself. It doesn’t need a 12V-2X6 connector, which means less hassle and potentially more reliability. But I’ve read that not all 5060 Ti models need that connector; some just use a single 8-pin, which might be fine for most users. Just make sure you check before buying!
Most 5060 Ti's only need a single 8-pin, so that's something to consider too!
If you can snag the 5060 Ti for around $430 MSRP, I'd say it's the better deal. On the other hand, if you find the 7800 XT used for about $350, that might be worth it. As a rule of thumb, I’d take a newer generation card if prices are the same.
The RTX 5060 Ti 16GB is a solid choice. It’s about 10% slower in traditional rasterization but excels in ray tracing—like 30% faster! It's also more efficient, running at around 200W compared to the 7800 XT's 280W. Plus, DLSS 4 works really well for upscaling, making it a better option if that's a feature you plan on using.
Just to confirm, you're talking about the 5060 Ti, right?
Gotta say, my 5060 Ti has only pulled about 85W at max load, which is pretty impressive!
Definitely go for the 5060 Ti, but don’t pay over $100 more than MSRP, which is $429. That’s where I’d draw the line.
That 12V-2X6 issue is mostly a concern for high-end cards. It's not as big a deal as it sounds!
