I'm currently using an RTX 4060 in my budget gaming build but I've been experiencing some stuttering and frame drops during intense moments in games. I'm looking to upgrade my GPU, and I'm trying to decide between the RTX 5070, priced at €609, and the RX 9070, which is €669. The €60 difference is a factor for me since I could use that money for other upgrades. Can anyone help me determine which option is a better buy? My current specs are: CPU: R5 5600X, RAM: 32GB DDR4, MOBO: B550-F Wifi 2, PSU: 650W.

Between the two, I’d say the RX 9070 edges out due to its additional VRAM and slightly better performance in most scenarios. While the 5070 has better ray tracing capabilities, if you're mostly gaming without that in mind, the 9070 gives you more for your bucks in terms of performance.
Yeah, if you can stretch that budget a bit, the 9070 is definitely the way to go.
If you’re playing more than just games, like doing some productivity work, you might want to think about NVIDIA. Their CUDA support is really helpful for AI tasks. If gaming is your main priority, then go for the RX 9070.
Just picked up the RX 9070 myself at €649 and I’m loving it. It runs games at ultra settings without any hiccups. The price difference might seem steep, but if you're looking for longevity in your GPU, it's worth it.
I would definitely go for the RX 9070. It has better VRAM and overall performance, even if it’s not as efficient with ray tracing. It's going to last you longer in terms of gaming capabilities. Plus, many users are finding that it outperforms cards one tier below it, like the 7800 XT over the 5060 Ti in most scenarios.
Totally agree with you! I'd take sheer raw power over efficiency any day.
Thanks for your input! That VRAM difference is something I’m definitely considering.
Honestly, the 5070 is a solid choice as well, especially if you're into the software features it offers. It’s also cheaper, so that could be a reason to lean toward it. If you’re not doing heavy gaming with lots of ray tracing, you might find it perfectly sufficient.
Yeah, the added software features can be really useful! If you're into DLSS and frame generation, that’s a big plus.
Exactly! If he plans to play at higher settings or resolutions, that VRAM will help him out.
