I'm currently using an RTX 4080 with a 13600k processor for single-screen gaming on my 48-inch 4K TV. I also play sim racing on a triple 1440p setup, using some software to switch between the two. While the 13600k works fine for 4K, I experienced annoying micro stutters during iRacing, which prompted me to upgrade to a 9800x3d and a new motherboard that I haven't installed yet. Now, I have to move and won't have space for both the TV and my sim rig side by side, so I can't use the same PC for both anymore. I already have the 13600k and motherboard combo, and I'm looking to buy a GPU for my single 4K TV. I'm debating between a 9070xt and a 5070ti, with the 5070ti being about $130 more expensive. At the moment, the new GPU will be for 4K single-screen use, but I want something that will also handle future needs like VR gaming and triple-screen sim racing. Which of these GPUs would you recommend, or do you have other suggestions that would work for me?

Honestly, if you're looking strictly for 4K performance, the 5070 Ti might be the better choice. It’s slightly faster than the 4080 at that resolution, whereas the 9070xt is a step down from your current setup. If you want to future-proof it for VR and more demanding games, I say go for the 5070 Ti, even with the extra cost.
Have you considered streaming from your main PC to your TV? You could use the integrated GPU in the 13600k for that while waiting to see if a better upgrade for your GPU comes along later on. Since you already have the RTX 4080, maybe hold off until there's a noticeable upgrade in performance available.
I totally agree! Streaming to the TV works flawlessly most of the time; it's a great solution!
I have a similar setup with a 13600k and I've found that while 4K is demanding, using DLSS helped manage performance during intense gaming sessions. If you can afford the extra for the 5070 Ti, I'd say go that route since it’ll likely give you better support for upcoming titles vs. the 9070xt. Plus, upscaling options are handy for 4K gaming.
Exactly! Having DLSS can make a big difference, especially as more games adapt to it.
But remember, if you're just looking for solid 4K performance without breaking the bank, the 9070xt could still be decent for now, right?
