I'm trying to find the right hard drive for my ASRock Fatal1ty B450 Gaming K4 motherboard. The M2 Ultra slot is currently in use by my main drive, but I'm looking to add a second. I bought a similar M2 NVMe drive (linked here: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0DC8VPSHV) that fits the slot, but it isn't recognized by the system. What type of hard drive should I be looking for, and is there a reason my new one isn't working?

You can use any NVMe drive, but keep in mind that it's not worth going for anything above mid-range Gen 3 since your M2 slot operates at Gen 3x2 bandwidth, which only uses two lanes. Gen 4 SSDs are generally backwards compatible, but if your drive isn't being recognized, it might be an issue with the compatibility or settings within your BIOS. Before buying a new drive, double-check your motherboard's specs and settings!
Why didn't my Gen 4 drive work then? I thought those were supposed to be compatible. Got any ideas on troubleshooting this?
