Which is Better for 1080p Gaming: 6800XT or 3080?

I'm trying to decide between the 6800XT and the 3080 for 1080p gaming, and I need some help! I want to focus on the 10 GB version of the 3080 here. It seems like the 3080 has the edge right now with DLSS 4 (while the 6800XT doesn't have FSR 4), but I'm not sure how big of a deal that is for 1080p gaming. The 6800XT's 16 GB of VRAM looks great for future-proofing, especially compared to the 10 GB of the 3080. Also, ray tracing is nice, but I'm not willing to give up future-proofing for it. Any thoughts on which card would be a better option for 1080p gaming given factors like gaming performance and future-proofing?

If you're sticking to 1080p, I'd personally lean towards the 3080. More VRAM can definitely help if you decide to upgrade to higher resolutions down the line, but for 1080p, 10 GB should still be plenty for most games. Ray tracing does use VRAM differently, so if that’s a concern for you, keep that in mind. But if you're not too worried about moving past 1080p, the 3080 should serve you well!

I plan to stay at 1080p too, and I just want to run anything on high settings for a good while. That’s why I’m really interested in this comparison!
