I'm trying to decide between two builds for gaming at 1080p. One is the RTX 3060 with a Ryzen 5 5600, and the other is the RTX 5050 with a Ryzen 5 5500. They are priced the same, but which combination would give me better performance mainly for gaming?

Definitely the first option! The RTX 5050 isn’t much faster than the 3060 Ti, so you’re not really giving up anything substantial in terms of graphical performance.

Exactly! The 5050 is just slightly better than the 3060, and it's behind the 4060, so I wouldn't sweat it.

I'd go for the RTX 3060 with the R5 5600. The better CPU helps with smoother gameplay, especially in esports or less graphically intense games. Plus, the RTX 5050 only edges out the 3060 by about 10%, so it's not a huge leap in performance.

The 3060 is definitely the way to go for gaming, even paired with an older CPU!

Stick with the RTX 3060 12GB! The 12GB variant gives the best value for money, and it's holding its own against the 580 in pricing and performance.
