Which is better for 1440p gaming: Used RTX 3080 10GB or Brand New RTX 5060 Ti 16GB?

I'm trying to decide between buying a used RTX 3080 with 10GB of VRAM and getting a brand new RTX 5060 Ti with 16GB of VRAM. Both cards are priced the same, and I primarily game at 1440p on ultra settings or sometimes high. Which one should I go for?

Definitely go for the RTX 5060 Ti with 16GB! The performance is nearly the same, but it comes with more VRAM and features like DLSS 4, plus you'll have better driver support for longer.

Thanks for the advice! I'm leaning towards the 5060 Ti now.

I have the 5060 Ti and it runs great at 1440p, especially if you're okay with using DLSS, which looks almost the same as native resolution. It's a newer architecture and will be supported for a while, though I assume the 3080 might perform better in raw power if you don't mind sacrificing future-proofing.
