I'm trying to decide between using two 16GB sticks or four 8GB sticks of DDR5 RAM for my gaming setup. Is there a significant difference in performance or stability between these two configurations?

Generally, DDR5 doesn’t perform well with four sticks of RAM. If you’re just aiming for RGB lighting in all four slots, there are dummy sticks available, but for actual performance, 2x16GB would be a better choice.
You're likely to encounter issues with speed when using 4x8GB RAM. It’s often less stable at higher speeds compared to a 2x16GB setup. Just something to consider!
Opting for 2x16GB is ideal because fewer modules typically provide more stability. Plus, having only two sticks makes it easier to achieve higher speeds compared to four.
From my experience, recent updates for AM5 motherboards have improved stability with four RAM sticks. There are even reports of achieving speeds over 6000 MT/s with four sticks. While 2x16GB is usually more stable, running 4x8GB isn’t as problematic as it used to be.
