I'm trying to decide between two different PC setups. One option is an RTX 3060 with 12GB of memory paired with a Ryzen 5 5600X. The other option is an RTX 5060 with 8GB paired with a Ryzen 5 5500. I've watched a lot of comparisons on YouTube, but I still can't make up my mind. Any advice?

For gaming, it's generally a better investment to spend more on the GPU than the CPU. Given how demanding games are getting nowadays, the 8GB could be a bit limiting over time, especially for heavy tasks like video editing or 3D modeling.
Definitely the 5060 with the Ryzen 5 5500. It offers better performance for most users, even if it has less VRAM. Just make sure to check what games you plan on playing to be sure you're not missing out on CPU-heavy games.
Honestly, I'd go with the RTX 5060 and the Ryzen 5 5500. While 12GB of RAM on the 3060 sounds good, the overall performance of the 5060 will outshine it, especially in newer games. Plus, the difference in CPUs isn’t that drastic. Just keep in mind what games you plan to play; if they are eSports titles, the 3060 might edge out a bit due to a better CPU. Otherwise, 5060 is the way to go.
What if I’m also doing video editing and game development? Is 8GB still enough?
If your focus is going to be on gaming mostly, I’d say stick with the RTX 3060 for now since it has a better CPU. However, in the long run, upgrading to a GPU like the 5060 is a solid plan. Also, consider looking for deals on a 5800X3D or 5700X3D if you want a performance boost down the line.

That’s what I’m worried about too! I’ve heard 8GB isn’t cutting it anymore for those tasks.
