I'm currently using a Ryzen 5 7600X and thinking about upgrading to a Ryzen 7 series CPU. I want to find a model that won't run too hot (planning on using air cooling) and won't require a high wattage since I have an 850W PSU. I'm looking for suggestions that fit this criteria without breaking the bank. Any tips or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Before you make a move, can you share why you're looking to upgrade? Knowing your goals can really help narrow down the choices.
Most Ryzen 7 models aside from the 9950X3D can work well with air cooling. If the X3D is too pricey, consider the 7700X or 9700X, as long as you're okay with those options.
If you're set on upgrading, the 9700X could be a good option for you. Just make sure you're clear on your requirements, especially since moving to Ryzen 7 usually means you want better performance.
Honestly, your Ryzen 5 is still quite capable! If you're facing issues, it could be more about configuration or system resources rather than the CPU itself. Maybe focus on optimizing your current setup before upgrading.
Upgrading to a Ryzen 7 might not give you the performance boost you're looking for unless you go for an X3D model. They tend to be pricier and not always worth it for moderate tasks.

I'm having issues running modded Minecraft and want to try out programs like Unreal Engine and Blender, but my current CPU cranks up to max and crashes.
