Which Linux Distro Should I Choose for Gaming and Coding?

Hey everyone! Since Windows 10 will no longer be updating, I'm fully diving into Linux. I'm currently trying to set up an Ubuntu server for self-hosting on a separate computer, but I'm looking for the best Linux distribution for my main desktop. I'm a beginner who's interested in gaming, writing, research, possibly 3D printing, and learning to code. I have a system with a 1TB SSD, an R5 3600 processor, an Nvidia 2060 GPU, and 16GB of RAM. I've heard about Pop!_OS, especially with the new Cosmic desktop environment, as well as Zorin and MX Linux, but I'm not quite sure what to choose yet. I'm also curious about Arch Linux, but I'm worried about its stability. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Have you considered trying Zorin or MX Linux? They're both known for being user-friendly and have good performance for gaming and coding.

Linux Mint is a solid option for beginners making the jump to Linux. It's user-friendly and has a clean interface. You'll find it easy to get set up for gaming and other tasks.

Honestly, the distro itself isn't as important as the desktop environment you choose. Just go with something that looks good to you! If you're open to it, you can start with whatever comes default with the distro. That way, you can focus on learning how to customize your environment later, and that’s where the real fun begins.

If you're comfortable with Ubuntu, you might want to stick with it unless you're really itching to try something new. Most mainstream distros can handle what you're looking to do, so pick one that sounds fun!

If you're new, I'd definitely recommend sticking with Ubuntu. It's pretty beginner-friendly and has a lot of community support. Plus, you can definitely do all the things you mentioned on it!
