Hey everyone! First off, I'm sorry if there are any typos; English isn't my first language. I'm a Windows 11 Pro user, and I'm really not happy with it at all. My setup is pretty powerful with a Ryzen 9 5950X, 32GB RAM, and an RX 7900 XTX, but I feel so bottlenecked. Windows has this clutter of unnecessary programs running constantly, and recently my system got corrupted, causing constant stutters that ruin my gaming experience. I think the only solution is to reinstall the OS.
So, I've been thinking about switching to Linux. From what I hear, it's way more optimized with a cleaner interface and not as much junk in the background. I did mess with Linux about ten years ago, but it felt super complicated. Back then, gaming was a real hassle—like needing Wine for almost everything—but I've heard that there are specific distros for gaming now.
Could you all recommend a good distro for my average usage? I primarily game on Steam and use Discord (about 80% of the time), do some web surfing (15%), and occasionally use the EA App and emulators (5%). Thanks for the help! I know the Linux community is very welcoming, and the open-source aspect is fantastic!

I’d say give openSUSE Tumbleweed a shot. It’s great for newer hardware and stays updated regularly. If you're really into hardcore gaming, some people recommend CachyOS for potentially better performance in certain games. Try them out!
Interesting, but why not try Buzzite? It seems pretty similar, no?
