I'm looking to install a Linux distribution on my old PC, which has an i5 7500 processor and a GTX 1060 6GB graphics card. I plan to use it for some older games, Netflix, email, and YouTube. My only prior experience with Linux is using Mint. What would you recommend as the best distro for my needs? This PC was previously running Windows 10.

For a smooth experience, I'd recommend Kubuntu. It's based on Ubuntu but with the KDE desktop environment, which is very stable. It's well-supported online and really compatible. Just make sure to check the box for installing third-party software during installation. Go for the latest version, 25.10!
You should have no trouble running any Linux distro on that machine. If you're looking for something user-friendly, I suggest Pop!_OS, Linux Mint, or even Nobara, as they all offer great support for third-party drivers, especially for your GPU. Just choose based on what you're most comfortable tweaking and managing.
You might want to give openSUSE Tumbleweed a shot. It runs great on that setup, but just be prepared for a bit more complexity when it comes to installing Nvidia drivers. It can be a bit tricky, but it's usually worth it for the performance!
